Idiogram: A Debut that Crossed Borders
The brief
Idiogram are a genre-defying quartet from Scotland, blending post-prog, rock, electronic, ambient, and classical influences. The band wanted to raise awareness of their debut single 'Twilight Sleep' and a launch event, getting some initial reviews that would lay the groundwork for future festival opportunities and radio play.
Our role
We launched the band’s debut campaign using AI tools to plan timing and strategy. The approach included a communications plan, social media tactics, and creative outreach. We connected with music influencers through platforms like SubmitHub and Groover, and engaged press for key previews and reviews. A launch gig was promoted at ECA's Wee Red Bar (known for hosting up-and-coming bands), and we contacted Scottish record shops to begin discussions about selling the upcoming album. Ongoing support from contacts at The Scotsman helped to plan ahead for their sound to reach a wider audience.
The result
The debut single gained significant traction across Scottish and international media. The track was featured on Rave Child's New Scottish Music Spotify playlist and secured airplay on ALT Music Radio UK/USA's 'On The Horizon' show. Loud Enough Magazine shared the track on their social media, while Far Out Magazine named it debut single of the week, and added it to their prominent 'Big Indie Playlist' on Spotify. The band received radio play from Scots Whay Hae!, who also interviewed them for their podcast and added the track to their New Music playlist. Edinburgh Minute's coverage helped attract a new audience to their launch gig at the Wee Red Bar. A major Scottish record chain committed to stocking their upcoming album. The East Lothian Courier also ran a feature with a photo.
